The national park of Pembrokeshire is located along the coast of western Wales. This protected area obtained its national park status back in 1952 and is the only one in the entire United Kingdom to have been designated as such due to its beautiful coastline. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is only one of three national parks in Wales which include the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia.
The 243-square-mile national park features various landscapes including hills, sandy beaches, estuaries and rugged cliffs. Although the protected area includes the Caldey Island, St. Bride’s Bay coast, Preseli Hills and the Daugleddau estuary, it is not all a coastal area. In fact, some forests and marshes could be found along the edges of the park. Other sites within the National Park include seven Special Areas of Conservation, six national nature reserves, 75 Sites of Special Interest and a marine nature reserve. In 2011, the National Geographic Magazine voted it to be the second best coastal destination in the entire world.
The park does not belong to a single city limit. You will find the exact location of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on the map above. If you need any other information on Pembrokeshire Coast National Park that is not listed here, please call 01646 624800 or visit their website.
