The Lego-themed theme park and resort in Windsor, Berkshire started out as the Windsor Safari Park. In 1996, it was turned into Legoland, making it the second one after Denmark’s Legoland Billund. The 150-acre property offers Lego-themed rides, models and building workshops to its 2.2 million annual visitors. It is the second most visited theme park in the entire United Kingdom, next to Alton Towers.
The entire park is divided into 12 themed lands, each with restaurants, attractions and shops. The Beginning is the entrance to the park and is accessible to visitors even before the park opens. It is also where the Hill Train is located.
Other themed areas in the park are the Imagination Centre, Miniland, Duplo Valley, Lego City, Heartlake City, the Land of the Vikings, Kingdom of the Pharaohs, Pirate Shores, Adventure Land and Knights’ Kingdom. The Legoland Windsor is open from March to November but closes on some days.
