This major museum established in 1857 is located on the Exhibition Road in South Kensington. As a publicly funded museum, it does not charge an admission fee to its visitors although some temporary exhibitions may have a fee. It merged with the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester in 2012 thus making it a part of the Science Museum of Group.

The Science Museum in London is made up of a number of permanent and temporary galleries to display a collection of more than 300,000 items. These include the East Hall, which focuses on power, Exploring Space, Making the Modern World, Flight, Launchpad, Media Space, Information Age and Engineer Your Future.
